空き地は、森の中や木々の間にある木がほとんどない開けた場所です。金融では、銀行間で支払いなどを精算する手続きを指す場合もあります。

一般的には森の中の『空き地』の意味で使われます。金融用語の『クリアリング』は公式な場面で使います。「The sky is clearing」とは別の意味なので注意しましょう。
