共通の特徴でグループやカテゴリに分けられたもの。政府や軍の情報では「機密」という意味でも使われます。

'be classified'のように受動態でよく使われる。日常では「分類」、報道や政府関連では「機密」の意味が強い。'confidential'は個人的な秘密にも使えるが、'classified'は公式情報に多い。
