조개

Definition

조개는 모래나 진흙에 사는 껍데기가 두 개인 작은 먹는 해산물입니다. 미국 영어에서는 돈을 뜻하는 속어로도 사용됩니다.

주로 음식으로 쓸 때 복수형(조개들)로 씁니다. '조개를 캐다', '조개 요리하다' 등과 많이 쓰입니다. 돈 의미는 미국식 구어체이며 비공식적입니다. 굴, 홍합과 구별하세요.
