カール圏谷

Definition

山の上部に見られる、氷河によってできた大きなすり鉢状のくぼ地です。地形用語で、円形劇場のような形をしています。

学術的・地質学的な文脈でよく使われます。「サーカス（見世物）」とは異なります。多くの場合「氷河カール」とも呼ばれます。
