Definition

キリスト教徒が礼拝や祈り、さまざまな宗教活動を行う建物。キリスト教団体そのものを指す場合もあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

必ず複数の教会を指します。建物だけでなく、キリスト教団体を指すこともあります。他の宗教施設には使いません。「historic churches」や「attend churches」などのフレーズで使われます。

Many churches are closed on Mondays.
