Definition

チリとは、料理に辛みを加えるための小さな唐辛子です。また、アメリカでは辛いシチュー料理（チリコンカーン）を指すこともあります。

唐辛子は主に野菜として使われます。アメリカの「チリ」は料理名なので文脈に注意が必要です。『a chili』→一つの唐辛子。

This soup has a lot of chili in it.
