완전히 무질서하고 통제가 안 되는 상태를 의미합니다. 주변이 어지럽거나 상황이 복잡할 때 사용합니다.

'완전한 혼돈', '절대적인 혼돈' 식으로 강조해 쓸 수 있으며, 'mess'보다 더 강한 혼란스러운 상태를 나타냅니다. 물리적, 사회적, 심리적 상황에 모두 사용됩니다.
