難題や困難に直面している人や物事を指す言葉です。また、身体や能力にハンディがある人を皮肉や丁寧なニュアンスで表現する際にも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「visually challenged」（視覚障害）や「time-challenged」（時間管理が苦手）といった表現で丁寧・ユーモラスに使われることが多いですが、場によって皮肉に感じられることもあります。
