虫歯

Definition

虫歯とは、歯にできる穴や、歯が腐食してできる損傷部分のことです。放っておくと痛みや歯の喪失につながる場合があります。

「虫歯」は日常会話や歯医者の診察時によく使われます。「虫歯ができる」「虫歯になる」と言います。他の「虫歯」以外の意味では使いません。

The dentist found two cavities in my teeth.

歯医者さんが私の歯に２つの**虫歯**を見つけました。

Brush your teeth every day to avoid cavities.

毎日歯を磨いて**虫歯**を防ぎましょう。
