災難是指突然發生,造成大量損失或痛苦的重大事件,通常規模很大,例如自然災害、事故或嚴重故障。

一般用於正式或嚴肅場合,描述非常嚴重的事件(不是小問題)。常與「自然」「經濟」「環境」等詞連用,如「自然災難」。和「災難」相似,但感覺更嚴峻或文學性。
