Definition

彫刻とは、木や石などの素材を削って作られる作品や、その技法・芸術です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に木や石などを手作業で作る作品に使います。「wood carving」「stone carving」など素材と一緒によく使われます。「engraving（彫金）」とは意味が異なります。動作や活動を指す場合もあります。
