キャニオン渓谷

Definition

キャニオンは、両側が急な崖になっている深くて狭い谷です。通常は川の流れによって長い年月をかけて作られ、乾燥地帯や山岳地帯によく見られます。

「キャニオン」は主に地理や旅行関係で使われます。「バレー（谷）」よりも大きく迫力のある地形を指すことが多いです。「深いキャニオン」「切り立ったキャニオンの壁」などの表現でよく使われます。
