仕事やポジション、名誉を目指して選ばれている、または競争している人たちのこと。特に選挙や採用で使われます。

'job candidates', 'presidential candidates', 'qualified candidates' などの表現でよく使われます。複数人を指すのが一般的で、ビジネスや政治の場面で使われます。
