Definition

‘come’의 과거형으로, 특정한 장소나 사람에게 다가가거나 이동하는 것을 뜻한다.

항상 과거 시제에서만 사용됨. 'go'(가다)와 달리, 'came'은 화자 쪽이나 목적지로 다가오는 움직임을 뜻함.

She came to the party late.

그녀는 파티에 늦게 **왔다**.

They came by car yesterday.

그들은 어제 차로 **왔다**.

I came home early today.

오늘 집에 일찍 **왔다**.

He came through the door without a word.

그는 아무 말 없이 문으로 **들어왔다**.
