ケーキ

Definition

小麦粉、砂糖、卵、バターなどで作られた甘い焼き菓子。デコレーションや中身が入っていることも多い。「ケーキ」の複数形。

フォーマル・インフォーマルどちらでも使う。'バースデーケーキ'や'チョコレートケーキ'などの表現によく使われる。クッキー（クッキー）、パイ（パイ）、ペストリー（ペストリー）とは異なるので注意。

There are three cakes on the table.
