"bruise" in Japanese

Definition

皮膚の下の血管が壊れてできる青紫色のしみやあざのこと。皮膚が切れていない場合に使い、動詞としても使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に軽いケガや小さな打撲に使う。切り傷には使わない。「bruise easily」＝「あざができやすい」、「was bruised」＝「打撲した」など。
