Definition

盆栽は鉢に植えて小さく育てた木や低木で、剪定して本物の大木のような形に仕立てます。また、そうした木を育てる技術や芸術も指します。

'盆栽'は植物自体にも、その育成や形成技術にも使われます。ただの小さな植物には使いません。'盆栽を育てる'、'盆栽愛好家'などの表現で使われます。
