イベントやお祝いのために屋外で大きく燃やす火のこと。みんなで集まる時によく使われる。

たき火は色々ありますが、“bonfire”は特にイベントや祭りなどで計画的に大きく燃やす屋外の火を指します。小さなキャンプ用の火（キャンプファイヤー）とは異なります。
