Definition

একটি কাল্পনিক ভূত বা আতঙ্ক, যা প্রায়ই ছেলেমেয়েদের ভয় দেখাতে বা শাসাতে বড়রা গল্পে ব্যবহার করেন। এছাড়াও, অজানা বা ভীতিকর কোনো কিছুকে বুঝাতেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।

সাধারণত গল্পে বা শিশুদের 'ভয় দেখানোর' ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার হয়: 'If you don't listen, the bogeyman will come.' কথায় দেখা যায়। বড়দের কথোপকথনে খুব কমন নয়।
