사람이나 동물의 뼈, 살, 장기를 포함한 신체 구조를 말한다. 어떨 때는 무언가의 주요 부분이나 집단을 의미하기도 한다.

주로 사람이나 동물의 신체에 쓰이며, 공식적·중립적으로 사용된다. 'human body', 'body parts' 등 실질적 의미와 'body of water', 'body of evidence' 같은 비유적 표현 모두 해당된다. '영혼' 등과 헷갈리지 않게 주의.

Her body is healthy and strong.
