Definition

人や動物の骨や肉、内臓を含む身体全体のこと。または物事の主要部分や集団を指す場合もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は人や動物の身体を指し、フォーマルまたは中立的な表現です。'human body'や'body parts'のように使いますが、'body of water'など比喩的な使い方もあります。魂（ソウル）とは異なる意味。
