鋭くない物や、遠慮せず率直に意見を言う人を指します。

人について使うと肯定的（正直）または否定的（ぶっきらぼう）に感じられることがあります。物ではほとんどの場合マイナスの意味。例：'blunt knife', 'blunt answer'。'brutally honest'や'dull'とはニュアンスが違います。
