어떤 것이 너무 많은 가스, 액체 또는 음식 때문에 부풀거나 커지는 상태를 말합니다. 주로 배에 대해 쓰지만 다른 부풀어 오른 것에도 사용합니다.

식사 후 배가 더부룩하거나 불편할 때 자주 씁니다. 비유적으로 '부풀어 오른 예산'처럼 사용할 수 있습니다.
