Definition

鳥は羽や翼、くちばしを持つ動物です。多くは飛ぶことができますが、飛べない鳥もいます。一種類全体や複数の個体を指して使われます。

'Bird'は単数形、'birds'は複数形です。日常では小さな飛ぶ生き物を指しますが、アヒルやワシ、ペンギンなども含まれます。数字や量の言葉の後で使われます。

I can see three birds in the tree.

木の上に**鳥**が三羽見えます。

Some birds cannot fly.

飛べない**鳥**もいます。

The birds sing every morning.
