オークションや競売で価格を提示すること。また、特に古風な言い方で、人の命令に従うことも意味します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主にオークションやビジネスの文脈で使われます。「At the bidding」は形式的で古風な表現です。「auction」「start the bidding」「at someone's bidding」などのフレーズでよく見られます。『bedding（寝具）』とは混同しないこと。
