베팅은 경기, 경주 등의 결과에 돈이나 귀중품을 걸고 더 많은 것을 얻으려고 시도하는 행위입니다. 합법적으로 운영되거나 개인들끼리 비공식적으로 할 수도 있습니다.
Usage Notes (Korean)
주로 스포츠, 경마, 게임 등에서 사용됩니다. 'sports betting', 'betting site', 'betting on horses' 같은 표현이 자주 나옵니다. 'betting'은 전체 행위를, 'a bet'은 하나의 내기를 뜻합니다. 'I'm betting he'll be late'에서는 '기대하다'라는 뜻에 가깝게 쓰입니다.
