Definition
賭け（ベッティング）は、ゲームやレースなどの結果にお金や価値のあるものを賭けて、より多くを得ようとする行為です。合法で運営される場合も、個人同士の間で行う場合もあります。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主にスポーツやレース、ゲームなどに賭ける時に使われます。「sports betting」「betting site」「betting on horses」など。'betting'は活動全体を指し、“a bet”は一回だけの賭けです。'I'm betting he'll be late' のような表現は「予想する」に近い意味になります。
