결혼을 약속한 사람, 즉 약혼한 남자 또는 여자입니다.

아주 격식 있거나 문학적 표현으로, 일상 대화에서는 거의 사용하지 않습니다. 오늘날에는 '약혼자' 또는 '약혼녀'가 더 일반적입니다.
