Definition

列車や船の中にある決められた寝台、または港で船が停泊できる決まった場所のこと。

一般には公的・技術的な場面で使われ、通常のベッドやホテルの寝床には使いません。船や列車の特定の寝台や港の停泊場所を指します。

I booked a lower berth for my night train journey.
