ベルトは、ズボンを締めたりファッションアクセサリーとして腰に巻く細長い帯状のものです。機械で動力を伝える部品を指す場合もあります。

'leather belts', 'seat belts' などは衣服や乗り物の安全ベルトを指します。機械では動力伝達部品を指す場合もあります。「belt」で「強く殴る」の意味にはなりません。
