누군가에게 도움이나 은혜를 받아서 그 사람에게 신세를 졌다고 느끼는 상태.

주로 격식적이고 부정문(‘아무에게도 신세 지지 않다’)에서 많이 쓰입니다. 빚(금전)이 아니라 은혜나 도움에 대한 신세임을 나타냅니다.

I am beholden to my teacher for all her help.
