戦い闘い

Definition

戦いとは、戦争などで軍隊やグループ同士が争うこと。また、困難や病気などに立ち向かう強い努力や苦闘を指すこともある。

直訳（例:「1812年の戦い」）でも比喩（例:「ガンとの闘い」）でも使えます。「battle against」「battle for」「uphill battle」などのパターンが多いです。動詞では「奮闘する」「必死で戦う」という強いニュアンスがあります。

The soldiers won the battle at dawn.
