物事が成り立つための基本的な考えや事実、または支え。また、「毎日行う」という規則的な方法を指す場合もある。

『the basis of』『on the basis of』『on a ... basis』のような表現でよく使われ、フォーマルな文脈で多い。日常会話では『毎日』『毎週』のように直接言うほうが自然な場合も多い。
