Definition

「基地」の複数形。組織や活動の主要な拠点、物の土台、または根本となる考えなどを指す。

スポーツ（特に野球の「塁」）、軍事（基地）、または抽象的（基礎・理論など）でよく使います。「basis」とは異なります。

There are three bases in baseball before home plate.

野球ではホームベースの前に三つの**塁**（**基地**）があります。
