大律師是在英國及其他國家專門代表客戶出庭辯護的律師，尤其處理重大或複雜案件。

「Barrister」主要在英國、愛爾蘭及一些英聯邦國家使用，美國則用「lawyer」或「attorney」。大律師通常在法庭上穿戴假髮和法袍，和負責文書及諮詢的「solicitor」不同，大律師專注於出庭辯護。
