取引の条件、特に価格について話し合うこと。また、団体同士が合意に達するための議論も指す。

「collective bargaining」「bargaining chip」「bargaining power」「bargaining table」などの表現に使われる。「値切り」は市場などで多い。心理学用語として「bargaining」は喪失の5段階の1つ。
