Definition

كلمة "bank" قد تعني مكانًا لحفظ المال أو الاقتراض منه، أو تعني ضفة نهر أو جسم مائي.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

"Bank" أكثر استخداماً للإشارة لمؤسسة مالية (بنك) وأيضاً لضفة النهر (river bank). يقال “at the bank” للمؤسسة و “on the river bank” للضفة. لا تخلط مع "bench" (مقعد).

Examples

I went to the bank to deposit some money.

ذهبت إلى **البنك** لإيداع بعض المال.

There were ducks on the bank of the river.

كان على **ضفة** النهر بط.

She works at a bank in the city center.

هي تعمل في **بنك** في وسط المدينة.

Their house is right on the river bank, so they get a beautiful view every morning.

منزلهم على **ضفة** النهر مباشرةً، لذا يستمتعون بمنظر رائع كل صباح.

I lost my wallet somewhere near the bank, so now I have no money or cards!

فقدت محفظتي في مكان ما قرب **البنك**، والآن ليس معي مال ولا بطاقات!

You can't swim across the river here—the bank is too steep.
