自閉症は、コミュニケーションや対人関係、物事の感じ方に特徴がある状態であり、そのような人を表す形容詞です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は形容詞として使われます（例：「自閉症の子ども」）。侮辱やステレオタイプで使わないよう注意しましょう。「スペクトラム上にいる」という表現もよく使われます。
