Definition

家族の「おば」や、家族のように親しい年上の女性への親しみを込めた呼び方です。

子供や家族ぐるみの関係でよく使われ、実際の親戚でなくても親しみを込めて使うことがあります。必ずしも血縁でなくてもOK。

My auntie lives near our school.

私の**おばさん**は学校の近くに住んでいます。

We are visiting Auntie Maya this weekend.
