正在嘗試做某事，通常是困難的事情。'attempting' 是 'attempt' 的進行時形式。

在正式和非正式場合常用，常見於 'attempting to solve'、'attempting to escape'。比 'trying' 更正式。不與情態動詞連用（用 'He is attempting' 而不是 'He can attempting'）。
