"assure" in Japanese

保証する安心させる

Definition

誰かに何かが本当だと自信を持って伝え、不安を和らげること。また、物事を確実にすることも意味する。

多くの場合「assure someone that...」の形で使います。何かを確実にする場合は「ensure」の方が一般的です。「assure」は不安や疑いを和らげるニュアンスです。「insure」とは異なります。

I assure you that everything is fine.

すべて大丈夫だとあなたに**保証します**。

The teacher assured the students that the test would be easy.

先生は生徒たちにテストが簡単だと**保証しました**。

Please assure that the door is locked before you leave.
