常見結構是 'assure someone that...'，後面通常跟人。表示「確保某事」時，'ensure' 往往更常見，不過 'assure' 也可以這樣用。'Assure' 通常帶有打消疑慮、讓人安心的意思；不要和主要表示「投保」的 'insure' 混淆。
