「ask」の過去形。誰かに情報や答え、助けを求めて質問することを表す。

過去の出来事について話す時に使います。'asked if...' のような間接疑問文でもよく使われます。'asked for' は何かを具体的に頼む時の表現なので注意。

She asked for help with her homework.
