一個由受過訓練地面士兵組成的大型有組織隊伍，通常屬於一個國家。也可以指任何有共同目標的大型組織羣體。

‘Army’ 通常指陸軍（不是海軍或空軍）。也可以指大規模有組織的團體，如 'an army of volunteers'。軍事語境下多用單數 'the army'，只有在講不同國家或歷史時用複數 'armies'。
