人や物事が距離、時間、または状況的に近づいてくることを表します。人が近づく場合や、期限や出来事が迫る場合などに使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「approaching storm」「approaching deadline」のように名詞の前でよく使います。「coming closer」よりややフォーマルな響きがあります。方法という意味の名詞「approach」と混同しないようにしましょう。
