ルールや状況が誰かに当てはまる、または誰かが仕事などに正式に応募する時に使う（'apply'の三人称単数）。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主にフォーマル・書き言葉で使う。よくある表現：'applies to you'（あなたに当てはまる）、'applies for a job'（仕事に応募する）。'applies to' （当てはまる）と 'applies for'（申請する）の違いに注意。主語はhe/she/itのみ。
