공연이나 연설이 끝난 뒤에 칭찬이나 기쁨을 나타내기 위해 손뼉을 치는 것.

주로 연주회, 공연, 연설 등 공개된 장소에서 사용합니다. '크게 박수 치다', '조용히 박수 치다', '누구에게 박수 치다'처럼 씁니다. 온라인 칭찬에는 쓰이지 않습니다.
