यह शब्द औपचारिक, वैज्ञानिक या साहित्यिक संदर्भों में आम है। 'apex of his career', 'apex predator' जैसी अभिव्यक्तियों में इस्तेमाल होता है। सामान्य बातचीत में कम होता है। 'apiece' (प्रत्येक के लिए) से न मिलाएँ।
