地球の南極や、その周辺地域に関すること、特に世界で最も寒い場所である南極大陸について言います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に形容詞として使われ、'Antarctic Circle'（南極圏）、'Antarctic Ocean'（南極海）、'Antarctic ice'（南極の氷）など固有名詞の場合は頭文字を大文字にします。'Arctic'（北極）と混同しないようにしましょう。
