‘천사’의 복수형으로, 종교적 이야기에서 전달자나 보호자로 묘사되는 영적인 존재. 때로는 매우 친절하거나 순수한 사람을 비유적으로 지칭할 때도 사용됨.

대부분 종교적이거나 문학적, 애정 어린 상황에서 사용됨. 누군가를 'an angel'이라고 하면 친근한 칭찬이지만 '천사들'은 사람에게 잘 쓰지 않음. 'Los Angeles'와 혼동하지 않도록 주의.
